主讲内容:
Resilient individuals can persevere through tough times, but they remain the same. In contrast, anti-fragile individuals use adversity to grow, improve their skills and capabilities, and come out better in the end. In essence, the concept of antifragility asserts that beyond surviving or coping through challenges and hardships, one emerges better because of them. As the author of the book Antifragile: Things that gain from disorder, Nassim Taleb (2014), argues, “the antifragile loves randomness and uncertainty, which also means – crucially – a love of errors …” It is this quality, this strength against, and indeed joy of, ambiguities, challenges, setback, mistakes, difficulties, randomness, and even chaos (to an extent) is a crucial skill for novice teachers. This talk, based on a one-year case study of a novice teacher, demonstrates the significance of the seldom discussed competency and the ways in which teachers can develop it.
