主讲人简介：
Vincent Greenier，博士，阿联酋沙迦美国大学英语系副教授，拥有逾二十年跨国英语教学经验，遍及美国、韩国、新西兰及英国等。在SSCI等国际知名学术期刊发表论文20余篇，担任多个重要学术期刊的主编或副主编，曾多次受邀在国内外重要学术会议上做讲座。研究兴趣主要为语言教学的创造性方法、英语教学的领导力和专业精神、语言教师教育、语言教师身份以及定性研究的创新方法等。当前，Greenier博士致力于探索教学中新的情感维度，尤其关注弹性适应、同情心培养、直觉激发以及爱的融入等教学法的研究与实践。
主讲内容：
Research on English as a Lingua Franca (ELF) has proposed several changes to the way English is taught to students who need to be prepared to use English in the modern globalized world. These changes include the way culture is conceptualized and taught in English Language Teaching classes. This talk reports on a study that explored the perspectives of pre-service teachers of English regarding culture and intercultural communication and aimed to understand whether these perspectives are compatible with the pedagogical proposals of ELF research, especially with regard to learning materials. Findings show that most pre-service teachers do not fully understand the concept of intercultural awareness as it applies to language teaching and express some challenges and concerns with ELF-based learning materials.
